Kowloon True Light School
Biochemistry Lab
The design narrative draws inspiration from dna and the molecular bases that compose the backbone structure of a dna (namely: thymine, adenine, cytosine, guanine) to create a thematic experience in the room and to align the theme with the room’s function as a biochemistry laboratory.
The selection of materials and colours in the laboratory aims to create a favourable environment for students. The chosen tones are “clean and subtle” which contribute to the brightness of the room and improve the students’ learning experience.
The space comprises of furniture such as stools and lab tables, storage cabinets, a feature wall with whiteboards and a tv, a thematic wall, and a teacher desk that is designed with shapes and materials that align with the aforementioned design theme. This furniture set is designed to enhance students’ learning, exploration, and experimentation.
